The gap nobody warned you about
You want your Figma tokens to just show up in code
You're moving fast, building with Figma and an AI coding tool. Here's what actually happens instead.
You export a JSON file, then upload it somewhere.
Every time a designer changes a token, someone has to remember to re-export and re-upload it. It gets stale in a week.
Two-way sync exists, but it's Enterprise-only.
Figma gates the Variables API behind its most expensive plan. If you're not there yet, you're stuck copying and pasting.
Your AI coding agent doesn't know your tokens exist.
It writes #3B82F6 instead of var(--color-primary-500), and now your design system and your codebase are quietly drifting apart.
When two people touch the same tokens, something breaks.
A designer renames a color. A dev hardcodes a value. Now you've got a conflict, and nobody wants to be the one who resolves it manually.
None of this is a skills problem. It's a plumbing problem. Vois is the plumbing.
Three ways to connect
Vois pulls your Figma variables into a token store your codebase can actually use. There are three ways in, depending on what your Figma plan supports.
| Enterprise sync | File upload | Plugin This one | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Figma plan needed | Enterprise | Any | Any |
| Sync direction | Two-way, live | One-way, manual | Two-way, on demand |
| Setup | Connect your Figma account | Export and upload a file each time | Install once, sync in one click |
| Best for | Teams already on Enterprise | A quick one-time import | Everyone else |
If you're not on Figma Enterprise, the plugin is the closest thing to live sync you can get. You open it, you click Push or Pull, and your variables and your Vois tokens match. No manual export step.
How the plugin works
Install once. Sync in either direction, on your terms.
Pull
Bring your token library into Figma as variables. Set it up once, and every designer on the file works from the same source of truth.
Push
Send your local Figma variables to Vois. Modes, collections, groups — all of it maps over, not just flat values.
Diff before you commit
Every sync shows you what's about to change before it changes anything. New tokens, updated tokens, anything that would get overwritten. You confirm, or you don't.
One paste, and you're connected
Generate a token in your Vois dashboard, paste it into the plugin once. No account creation inside Figma, no OAuth dance.
The plugin gets your variables into Vois. Vois gets them into your codebase.
Once your tokens are in Vois, they sync to your repo through your existing GitHub connection. That's the part that matters if you're vibe coding: your AI coding agent picks up the same tokens your designer just set, without anyone manually wiring values into a config file.
When changes collide, you get one place to sort it out
When a token update from Figma and a code change touch the same value, Vois surfaces the conflict in one place — pick the Figma value, the GitHub value, or set it manually — instead of leaving you a merge mess to untangle by hand.
Built for however your team ships
Shipping alone
You don't have to choose between moving fast and keeping your design system honest. Push a token change, and it's in your code before your coffee's cold.
No Enterprise budget
You get most of what live sync gives Enterprise teams, without the Enterprise price tag.
Tired of the Slack pings
Once it's set up, nobody has to ask whether the tokens updated yet.
